It’s the height of summer and Senior Scope is full of informative articles in the July issue. This month, we spoke to an information specialist whose job it is to connect older adults (or their caregivers) to the resources they need to continue to live independently. To do that successfully, a person needs an ability to listen intelligently, express empathy and understanding, and have and in-depth knowledge of available resources. Meet Cindy and hear how she approaches her job here.
Senior Scope also followed the activities at Celebration of Seniors, back from a two-year hiatus during the pandemic. The resource fair was packed with people, likely all happy to be able to gather in one place again. Vendors and speakers had plenty of information, resources, and give-aways for those who attended. Read the story here.
We also followed Dartmouth Seniors to the beach and sat in on a new HOME group, which wants to improve housing options for local families.
