The Town of Rochester, MA is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Director for the Council on Aging (CoA).
Applicants must have: an accredited bachelor’s degree in gerontology, psychology, human services or related fields; at least five (5) years full-time work experience; at least one (1) year supervisory experience, polished written and verbal communication skills; computer skills (MS Office), experience preparing and managing departmental budgets, be CORI qualified, and have a valid Massachusetts drivers license.
If hired, applicants will be expected to acquire Director certification from the Massachusetts Council on Aging, and become knowledgeable about Federal and State regulations about programs for the elderly.
Applicants who have any of the following will be given preference: Master’s degree in a related field, grant writing experience leading to receipt of external funding, knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid supplements, assessment skills (to identify needs and coordinate appropriate services and programs to accommodate those needs), experience in survey construction and analysis, thorough knowledge of disabilities across the lifespan, willingness to learn and implement COVID-19 procedures, familiarization of institutional cooking or interest in kitchen operations, and demonstrate the ability to train, supervise and deploy employees and volunteers effectively.

Salary range (depending upon qualifications): $65,000-80,000 with benefits consistent with all Town of Rochester management employees. This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position with the expectation the individual would be available for some evening and weekend events.
