In this month’s Senior Scope, Michele Ellicks, from the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles spoke with us about ways that older adults can remain driving longer as well as some of the state regulations they should be aware of by age 75. We also reported on the civil rights actions of the Greensboro Four during their 1960 sit-in at the Woolworth whites-only lunch counter. The incredible story was retold by Dr. Jibreel Khazan, now a local icon, at Bristol Community College’s recent Martin Luther King Jr. Day event.
This month we also heard from Dr. Michael Rocha about healthy steps to take for Heart Month and the wonderful (almost-Spring) news that the ‘Walk with a Doc’ program will resume in March. Also, check out information on the new digital vaccine card that the state is supporting and find out how to sign up for free computer classes, specifically tailored to the needs of older adults, being offered by Coastline.
