Recognizing the extra financial burdens being placed on older adults in today’s economy, Coastline has raised its emergency assistance limits for those in need. The organization more than doubled regular assistance limits and created a higher category for those whose needs are considered extraordinary circumstances.
Emergency assistance is provided to older or disabled adults who are Coastline consumers (or their caregivers) and whose needs are brought to the organization by a case manager or other Coastline employee. Requests are typically for one-time purchases and include items such as medical equipment, home equipment, clothing, cleaning supplies, and similar needs.
Funding for the grants is raised each year through donations to Coastline. Grant applications are submitted to Coastline’s Planning Department for approval.
