This month we spoke with Grandparents Raising Grandchildren, Inc., which helps grandparents navigate the challenges of raising a younger generation. While the pandemic has prevented the group from hosting its regular support group meetings at New Bedford City Hall, Grandparents Raising Grandchildren, Inc. is still just a phone call away.
Also this month: we check in with the vaccination effort in the South Coast’s immigrant population, the limited reopening of the Mattapoisett Council on Aging, and offer a list of outdoor activities available in New Bedford this summer!

Community Companions
You don’t need a computer, nor do you need to know how to set up a Zoom meeting, to connect with others during the pandemic. You can enroll in UMass Dartmouth’s Community Companions program through Coastline. Students will call you weekly to check in and have a friendly conversation.
