World Mental Health Day is October 10th, and Senior Scope joined a candlelight vigil outside Buttonwood Park Zoo to mark the occasion. Local advocates are doing their part to change negative perceptions on seeking mental health treatment amid a time when more public figures are openly discussing the topic.

Also in this edition, we revisit Dartmouth United Outreach, a group of volunteers that formed during the pandemic to deliver food to those in need. The group merged with YMCA Southcoast’s Full Plate Project not long before UMass Dartmouth once again hosted its Food Summit, which explores issues of food access in the region.
