Anne Silvia is retiring after 10 years of innovative leadership at the Fairhaven COA, local advocates held a local World AIDS Day conference to examine the state of the disease today and reflect on the resilience born from earlier years of advocacy, and Senior Scope sat in on a discussion on how to talk to your loved one about cognitive impairment.

Also in this edition, we take a look at Dartmouth Housing Authority’s efforts to create a new housing project, specifically tailored to older adults with mental or behavioral health challenges. The project received $275,000 in MassWorks funding to help create infrastructure for the 10-unit building at DHA’s housing complex on Anderson Way. It’s one more step that the town is taking toward creating housing options to allow older adults to age in place.
