Dementia Safety

Creating an environment that is safe for people living with dementia can be challenging when so much of the disease differs from person to person and then changes as the dementia progresses. In this month, Senior Scope offers some tips for getting started from the Alzheimer’s Association and Lifeway Mobility. We also spoke with Alzheimer’s advocate Barbara Meehan about her journey from grieving partner to helping others.

June is Pride Month

Also in this month’s issue we heard from local healthcare practitioner Brian Costa about the obstacles still facing older LGBTQ+ adults. These are the people who risked so much when choosing to come out as gay and still face health disparities today, Brian writes.

New ER opens

We also got a sneak peek at Tobey Hospital’s new and expanded Emergency Room, a beautifully designed space created with the well-being of patients first and foremost.
